Crossroads Church of Cleburne

We are an outreach church with a strong desire to interact with and impact our community. We will support and/or coordinate activities that enhance the community without regard to membership in any church.

We are a church who embraces the intentional worship of God in a casual atmosphere where the unchanging truth of God’s Word will be taught in a loving and empowering way. During our service we will worship God with music from traditional to contemporary styles and an uplifting message that applies God’s enduring truths to today’s challenges. While we believe the Bible is inerrant in it’s original languages. We use several versions or translations.

We provide educational, small group and worship activities designed to reach all people as the need expresses itself.

We believe Jesus Christ tells us to practice two sacraments baptism and communion; we encourage believer’s baptism by immersion because of it’s rich symbolism. (Romans 6:1-4)

We believe salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ alone, and not by water baptism or any other religious rite or work.

We encourage the observance of the Lord’s Supper on a regular bases as a way of reminding us what Jesus has done, is doing, and will do for us.

Tents of Mercy

Our vision is to be an oasis for Israel’s returning exiles and for her native-born sons and daughters. In the ancient Near East the oasis was an absolutely vital center of refuge, supply, healing, equipping and sending out. This vision is being fulfilled as:

A HUMANITARIAN AID CENTER, providing practical assistance to new immigrants, operating out of an industrial warehouse. We give refuge through short term housing, apartment search and employment counseling; and supply through the distribution of food, clothing, household items, toys and baby supplies

A SHARING COMMUNITY MEETING IN HOUSE GROUPS (Acts 2:42-47), which seek the healing and equipping of each member for the work of the Lord. Ours is a community of varied origins, illustrating the Book of Ruth paradigm: Israel’s end-time harvest comes.

A MESSIANIC SYNAGOGUE CELEBRATING THE TORAH ROOTS of our New Covenant faith, (Jer. 31:31-33) embracing Jesus as Israel’s Messiah, declaring Yeshua, Come Home!!!

A TABERNACLE OF PRIESTLY WORSHIP AND INTERCESSION where God’s presence is sought passionately. Because God said “I will meet with you at the tabernacle.” (Exod. 29: 43) As priests we must cry out “Spare your people, O Lord!” (Joel 2:17)

A CONGREGATION PLANTING CENTER, in the apostolic pattern of extending God’s Kingdom through sending out teams to do humanitarian aid, evangelism and congregation planting in unreached areas of Israel.

In 1989 Eitan Shishkoff had a vision.

He saw an oasis with tents full of provisions of every description. The Spirit of God spoke to him that this represented Eitan’s call to establish a place of refuge and healing for the returning exiles. Many of these new immigrants would come with few economic resources but God had promised:

“I will restore the tents of Jacob and have mercy on his dwelling places.” – Jeremiah 30:18.

Six years later, the vision of Tents of Mercy became a physical reality. Tents of Mercy began in Israel in 1995 with two home cell groups and a few cardboard boxes of humanitarian aid. Today, by the grace and compassion of God we are a growing network of five Messianic congregations in the Galilee and a humanitarian aid warehouse / distribution center. God is continuing to expand our ministry to lend a helping hand to His beloved people in the Galilee.
