Our mission is to attract and win believers in Jesus Christ, to develop them to Christlike maturity, and empower them for meaningful ministry in His church and a life of mission in the world in each stage and segment of their lives.

The First Baptist Church of Alvarado is a group of baptized believers united in the power of the Holy Spirit on mission for:

Worship / In Worship we celebrate God’s presence by expressing our love to God in praise.

Ministry / In ministry, we demonstrate God’s love by meeting personal needs and helping those who are hurting.

Evangelism / In evangelism, we communicate God’s Word by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with others in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Discipleship / In discipleship, we educate God’s people by teaching them how to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We work to provide strategic opportunities to share Christ locally and globally.

Meno Kalisher

The Jerusalem Assembly House of Redemption

Pastor Meno Kalisher was born on September 26, 1962 in Jerusalem, Israel. His father was a Holocaust survivor and his mother was from Iran. Since childhood, Meno recalls attending a local assembly with his parents, both of which were Messianic Jews.

At the age of 17, Meno began searching to find whether or not Jesus is the True God and Messiah. He reasoned that if Jesus is God, He should be found in Genesis, as well as in Matthew. So, Meno studied the Messianic prophecies found in the Old Testament and realized that Jesus is El Shaddai, the person of the Godhead we can see face-to-face and who came down to earth to speak with our forefathers (Genesis 18). At that point, he accepted Jesus as his Lord & Savior from sin. As a new believer, Meno was excited to share what he found about Jesus in the Old Testament with other young adults.

After serving in the Air Force for more than 4 years, Meno worked at Intel Electronics for another 5 years. He studied in the U.S. at the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry School from September of 1987 until July of 1988.

Upon returning to Israel, Meno started a Bible study group with other mature believers. Just two-and-a-half years later, this meeting evolved into the Jerusalem Assembly House of Redemption, a formal congregation.
